Music: The Color of Light

The same God that righteously took from mankind their universal speech at Babylon, gave to us another way of communicating. Music is the one tongue that flows directly from one soul to another, without the cumbrous inaptness of words. Its stream calls out the joy, passion, agony, glory, and hope we didn't even know existed within.
 
For this reason, we must take care. Music can teach us things we shouldn't know, and call out parts of us that should remain cold and still.
 
When music is pure, though, there is no better thing on earth, I think. Every person I've ever known has had a unique song, every tree and flower ever met a song, every sunset, section of ocean, and glimmer of sunlight a name penned in celestial music sent down to some composer somewhere, who gives it life as well as his skills permits, only to grimace, half satisfied, knowing that it is but the shadow of something above. And if the shadow be so beautiful, how indescribable the original...
